February 13-15, 2012 Forecast Results

The next in the long-range weather forecast series published in The Mountain Astrologer is ready to be looked at. This is the forecast for February 13-15 and was drawn up over half a year ago in July 2011. The forecasts appeared in the Feb/Mar 2012 edition of the magazine.

Forecast
February 13-15, 2012
The combined influence of Mercury conjunct Neptune, and Venus square Pluto will increase atmospheric moisture, resulting in atmospheric disturbances where these planets occupy the angles of key charts. The U.S. West Coast will see a storm system move into the Pacific Northwest and push toward the Rockies. Precipitation intensifies over the Plains states, around Iowa and Missouri, while the Northeast gets in on the storm action as well.

Cold air will funnel down through Siberia toward central China, triggering storms.

Results
Between the 13th and 15th a number of storms moved in over the Pacific Northwest and California. The Accuweather map below for the 13th shows what is called an "inside slider" or storm system that slides into California from the northwest focusing its energy over the Sierra Nevada and Great Basin.

This next Accuweather map is for the 14th and shows another of a continuing parade of storms that brought unsettled conditions to the Pacific Northwest.

The forecast also mentioned precipitation intensifying over the Plains especially Iowa and Missouri. The Weather Channel map below for the 13th shows snow and rain affecting Iowa and Missouri as well as the Plains. According to The Weather Channel several inches of snow blanketed a wide area from the central Plains to the Appalachians while the heaviest snow, around 3 to 5 inches, targeted central Missouri.

The storm action forecast for the Northeast arrived on the 16th, a day after the forecast period ended, although there was some spotty snow for the interior Northeast on Valentine's Day. The Weather Channel map below for the 16th shows the arrival of the low pressure system.

The forecast also called for cold and storms to hit central China. The China Meteorological Administration reported on the 135h that from Feb.13 to 15, there will be a large-scale snow or snow in central China. The next day they reported large-scale snow and rain in central and eastern China.

Feb 7-9, 2012 Forecast Results

The next forecast that appeared in the Feb/Mar 2012 edition of The Mountain Astrologer covered the Feb 7-9 period. These forecasts were elaborated in July of 2011 about 7 months ago.
Here are the results.

Forecast
February 7-9, 2012
This three-day stretch features a Sun-Mercury conjunction, Saturn's retrograde station, and the conjunction and parallel of Venus with Uranus. Each of these is a cold-weather breeder. Stateside, these planetary influences congregate over the 79th degree of west longitude through the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast and promise wintry precipitation and cold temperatures.

Results
On the 8th, a storm system brought some light snow to the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and some rain to the northern parts of the Southeast as shown in the Accuweather map below.

But the cold indicated by these planetary alignments took an extra day to really kick in. Accuweather reported that on the 10th an arctic cold front would aggressively roll into the Great Lakes, Northeast, and New England and develop a coast storm bringing snow from the Delmarva through New England.

Forecasts were also issued for Europe and China.

Forecast
February 7-9, 2012
Uranus occupies the 8th degree of east longitude through Germany and Switzerland. The surrounding areas will get a shot of winter wind and snow. Winter weather is indicated through central and eastern China.

Results

During this time, Europe found itself in the midst of a continuing cold wave with temperatures 10 to 20 degrees below normal. The 7th brought windy and unsettled conditions throughout the Mediterranean with gales and heavy showers. On the 9th snow was reported in central Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Switzerland. As seen on the Accuweather map below, Friday, the 10th, brought the development of a low pressure area over Italy bringing snow there and eastward.

As for China, according to the China Meteorological Administration the 7th brought a temperature drop of 6 to 8 degrees in south China with windy conditions. The 8th brought light to moderate snow with isolated heavy snow to parts of southern China. From Feb.9 to 10, freezing rain was forecast to hit central and western Guizhou.

January 27-29, 2012 Forecast Results

We continue to report the results of long-range weather forecasts drawn up six months ago (July 2011) and published in the Feb/Mar issue of The Mountain Astrologer magazine. These forecasts are based on planetary cycles and alignments. Here's the next forecast in the series.

Winter storminess is indicated for most of the country based on Mercury's squares to Saturn and Jupiter, but in and around Louisiana and the Great Lakes are two places that appear to stand out for winter precipitation.

The above Accuweather map shows the severe storm setup for Thursday, January 26th, one day ahead of the long-range forecast period. Notice the severe threat over the Louisiana area. Mobile, Ala., was smacked by heavy rain and strong winds during the storms during the midday hours Thursday. Thunderstorms began slamming Louisiana as early as the evening of the 25th.

The next Accuweather map is for Saturday, January 28th.

This maps shows a clipper system hitting the Great Lakes area as predicted in the long-range forecast. Some areas picked up 1 to 2 inches while others locally got between 2 and 4 inches.

In Europe, Scandinavia should be in the path of a winter storm and Portugal should receive a good soaking while storm-brewing ingredients come together over the east coast of China.

Snow was reported across the Scandinavian countries of Norway, Denmark, and northern Sweden on the 26th, but the big story was the blizzard that dumped more than 2 feet of snow on southeastern Europe particularly Bulgaria and Romania. No rain was reported across Portugal.

Over the east coast of China the China Meteorological Administration reported:

On January 26 and 27, central and eastern China will see a drop in temperature by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius. North of the Huaihe River will see northerly wind with scale 4 to 6. East seas of China will see northerly wind with scale 7 to 8 and gust up to scale 9.

January 19-21, 2012 Forecast Results

The next forecast in The Mountain Astrologer Feb/Mar 2012 issue covered the period between January 19-21. The forecast covered three areas. Let's look at how they turned out. These forecasts were prepared in July 2011.

The sextiles to Uranus and Pluto by the Sun and Venus indicate cold but fair conditions now. The Sun's squares to the approaching Jupiter-Saturn opposition, however, add inclement conditions with above average precipitation. These combine over the U.S. Northeast and New England promising messy winter conditions. A strong low pressure system is also indicated over the western Great Lakes.

Results
The Accuweather map below shows the winter storm hitting the Great Lakes, Northeast and New England on the 20th and 21st as forecast.

Here are some of the weather headlines for this period.
Jan 19: Snow for Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, NYC, Boston
Jan 20: Snowstorm for NYC, Hartford, Boston and Others
Jan 21: Snowstorm rips through Northeast
A quick-hitting winter storm brings the heaviest snow since the late October snowstorm to parts of the Northeast.

Forecast
The U.K. gets a blast of winter now, and Portugal is slated for stormy conditions. Farther east over Turkey, the Jupiter-Saturn opposition will most likely result in a winter storm.

Results
Here are some of the European weather headlines. I'm not sure what weather Turkey experienced.

Cloudy, wet and windy across England, France, The Low Countries, Denmark and Germany with outbreaks of rain.
Jan 21: Cold and wintry, Strong winds

Forecast
While Uranus and Pluto bring cold air through Russia and central China, the Jupiter-Saturn combination seems to promise a strong winter storm system over China's eastern and southeastern coasts.

Results
On the 20th and 21st, the China Meteorological Administration issued a blizzard alert close to the areas forecast as shown in the map below.

The Central Meteorological Office issues Blue alert for blizzard at 6:00 p.m. on January 20 (Beijing Time):
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours from 8:00 a.m. on January 20 there will be heavy snow affecting southeastern Gansu, central Shaanxi, southwestern Shanxi, most parts of Hubei, southern Anhui, northwestern Jiangxi, and northwestern Hunan. Isolated areas in southern Hubei will be hit by blizzard with precipitation of 10 to 13 mm. Parts of central Guizhou will see freezing rain.

January 12-14, 2012

A series of winter forecasts of mine for 2012 entitled The Winters of 2011-14: An Astrometeorological Assessment has been published in the Feb/Mar 2012 edition of The Mountain Astrologer. These forecasts are all based on planetary cycles and were prepared in July 2011. As the forecasts transpire, I post the results to see how they have turned out. I've already posted the results of all that have occurred so far. Here's the next one.

Forecast
January 12-14, 2012
Some of the main areas affected by Mercury's conjunction to Pluto, and Venus' conjunction to Neptune are the U.S. east and west coasts. An impressive winter storm should enter the Pacific Northwest with plentiful moisture. Its eastern counterpart will deliver a wintry punch to the Northeast and New England.

The Mercury-Pluto conjunction in the Solar Ingress affects the 105th degree of east longitude through Russia and central China opening up an arctic expressway for cold air to penetrate southward.

Results

For the United States, two areas were mentioned: the East and West Coasts. The Northeast and New England were to experience a wintry punch. The Accuweather map below for January 13th--the middle of the forecast period--shows the wintry punch arriving on schedule. Weather headlines for this time period are as follows: Northeast: Accidents, Cut Power from Snow, Freeze, Wind--Double shot of winter storms in the East--Arctic invasion.

As for the West Coast, the Accuweather map below is for the 14th or the end of the forecast period. The accompanying headline read: Seattle Snow, Storms to Return to the West. The weather, however, began to gear up for this before the 14th. On the 11th, the National Weather Service reported brisk east to northeast winds with gusts up to 50 mph--and even 70 mph--in some places in and around the Portland metro area. On the 13th, the NWS stated "a vigorous frontal system will push through western Washington early Friday (13th) bringing significant snowfall to the Cascades.

The last part of the forecast was for cold air to penetrate southward through central China. The China Meteorological Administration reported the following:

From Jan.12 to 14, there will be light to moderate snow or sleet in central and eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (this is located in west central China), southeastern Northwest China, northern Yangtze-Hanshui Valley, southern and western Yellow-Huaihe Valley, northern Yangtze-Huaihe Valley. From Jan.12 to 15, the last overcast will hit most parts of southern China with the precipitation of 40 to 90mm. On Jan.14, the heavy rain or rainstorm will affect Jiangxi (southeast China), Fujian (southeast China), northern Guangdong and eastern Guangxi (south central China).

January 7-8, 2012 Forecast Results

The next forecast that appeared in The Mountain Astrologer Feb/Mar 2012 issue covered January 7th and 8th.

January 7-8, 2012
Mercury and Venus activate Uranus and Pluto now by square and semi-square. Abruptly falling temperatures with northwest wind push down over the Great Lakes into eastern U.S. and bring the potential for wintry precipitation. Other key charts indicate that wintry weather will be felt over Nevada, Oklahoma, and Iowa.

This should be an active weather period for Europe. Blustery northwest wind should push eastward over Ireland through the UK, Portugal, and Spain towards Germany. Similarly, Uranus-Pluto over China indicates sudden temperatures drops and northwest winds pushing into the country's center.

Results

The falling temperatures mentioned for the Great Lakes and eastern U.S. are shown in the following Weather Channel map for January 8th. Notice the cold front pushing over the whole area.

Winds were also experienced over the Great Lakes as shown by the NWS gale warning on the 7th for Marquette, MI.

The National Weather Service warned that on the 7th and 8th
A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE THROUGH NORTHERN AND EASTERN NEVADA BRINGING SNOW SHOWERS AND A LOT OF COLD AIR...SOME GUSTY WINDS COULD DEVELOP OVER NORTHEAST NEVADA WHICH MAY BRIEFLY IMPACT TRAVEL ALONG HIGHWAY 93 FROM WELLS TO JACKPOT...TEMPERATURES WILL DROP RAPIDLY AND SINGLE DIGITS ARE EXPECTED BY DAYBREAK SUNDAY.

Oklahoma
A COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO PUSH SOUTH OF THE PANHANDLES BY SUNDAY MORNING WITH MUCH COLDER AIR RETURNING TO THE AREA. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO THE NORTHWEST PANHANDLES SUNDAY MORNING AND IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD SOUTHWARD ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA BY SUNDAY NIGHT.

The Accuweather map below shows a bigger picture of the weather affecting that area.

Iowa
No wintry weather was reported for Iowa.

Europe
Wet and windy weather was reported for Europe starting on the 6th. Heavier showers and stronger winds blew into Germany and Poland on the 7th. On the 8th, a strong mistral affected southern France.

China
The Chinese Meteorological Administration reported the following on January 5th:
In the next 3 days, there will be last overcast, rain and snow in most of southern China. The last rain and snow will influence eastern Qinhai-Tibet Plateau and most southern parts of China. Central and northern Guizhou, northern South of the Yangtze River will get light to moderate or sleet. The freezing rain will hit central and western Guizhou while moderate to heavy snow affect southwestern Tibet.

December 31, 2011 - January 2, 2012 Forecast Results

The third forecast that will appear in The Mountain Astrologer February 2012 issue follows below. Let's see how it turned out.

December 31, 2011-January 2, 2012
A front or low pressure system bringing windy and stormy conditions to the Rockies due to the Mercury-Mars square will eject out into the Plains. Europe will see boisterous conditions over the UK, Spain, and Poland. Key charts show Mercury-Mars affecting a broad area of China with windy weather.

Results
On December 30th, Examiner.com reported that high wind watches were in place for parts of Wyoming and Colorado and were to increase significantly by the 31st effectively fulfilling the first part of the above long-range weather forecast. The article further reported that winds were to be strong across the Central Plains from the 31st into January 1st fulfilling the next part of the forecast.

As for Europe, the map below shows windstorm to affect the continent between January 1st and 3rd.

On the 1st, weather.co.uk reported strong winds and periods of rain were to affect the Low Countries, northern Germany, and the north of Poland. The only place not mentioned was Spain.

The China Meteorological Administration reported that from December 31st through January 4th, northerly wind forces would hit the northern parts of the Huaihe River which is located in eastern China.

December 28-31, 2011 Forecast Results

The second forecast that will appear in The Mountain Astrologer February 2012 edition covers the period between December 28-31, 2011. These long-range forecasts were prepared during July 2011.

The Sun's conjunction to Pluto over 75 west longitude at the same time as Venus' parallel to Pluto insures a cold air mass will take root over the Great Lakes area and move over U.S. Northeast with the potential for triggering a low pressure system.

Results
The Weather Channel map below is for December 27th when heavy rain and some snow hit the Northeast U.S. a day earlier than forecast.

The assault continued on the 28th as shown in the Accuweather map below as very windy conditions and a low pressure system affected the forecast area.

In keeping with the forecast more snow and rain is expected over the Great Lakes area tomorrow on the 31st. See below.

The forecast also spoke of Russia and China.

Forecast

December 28-31, 2011Pluto affects the 105th degree of east longitude through Russia and east central China promising and invasion of cold air through the region.

Results
The China Meteorological Administration reported the following on December 28th:

From Dec.28 to 29, the cold air will influence eastern China, eastern Inner Mongolia, Northeast China and eastern North China... The temperature of some parts of will drop by 8 degrees with 4 to 5 northerly wind forces. On Dec.28, the light snow will hit northern and eastern Northeast China.

December 21-23, 2011 Forecast Results

This forecast is the first of those that will appear in the February 2012 edition of The Mountain Astrologer magazine. The first part of the forecast covers two areas of the States.

December 21-23, 2011
The first day of winter will be ushered in over the eastern U.S. on gusty northwest winds due to the Sun-Uranus square. As temperatures fall, wintry precipitation may develop in areas that have enough moisture available. A western storm will also unleash its precipitation over the Pacific Northwest.

Results
The Weather Channel map below is for December 21st and shows the arrival of the storm system predicted over the eastern U.S.

This system spread locally heavy rain over the Mid-Atlantic and a mix of rain and snow from New York into Massachusetts. The gusty winds mentioned in the forecast are scheduled to appear across the Great Lakes and Northeast on the 24th and 25th as a vigorous upper-level disturbance races across the area. Much colder air will push into the region as well.

The second part of the forecast called for a storm system over the Pacific Northwest. The Accuweather map below shows the arrival of an onslaught of storms starting on the 23rd.

Winter weather will punch its way in over the European continent as a low pressure system affects the area in and around Switzerland. With Uranus affecting 97 east longitude through central China, strong cold winds will penetrate southward now.

Results
On the 21st, rain hit northern Germany with heavy snow in the south and into Poland and western Finland. Heavy snow also affected the Alps. China reported gusty, cold winds affecting central and eastern China lowering temperatures to between 4 and 8 degrees Celsius.

Winter 2011-12 The Rockies

Mercury will occupy the 106th degree of west longitude in the season's key chart, which takes effect on December 21, 2011. Mercury's role in weather forecasting shows areas where cooler temperatures and high pressure will prevail and where windy conditions may center when other planets make disruptive aspects to Mercury.

A few dates when Mercury will "come under attack" by negative aspects from the rest of the heavenly host are the following:

February 18, 2012
In and around this date, an influx of cold air over the Rockies
should result in windy conditions.

February 27, 2012
Similar conditions should generate cold and windy conditions around this time as well.

March 17, 2012
Mars now gets involved and is usually quite energetic in its weather influence. Expect whipping winds throughout the Rockies in and around this
date.

Winter 2011-12 West Coast

As each new season begins, conventional meteorologists spend a few minutes mentioning the exact date and time that the new season in question officially gets underway. As we get close to the beginning of winter , you will probably hear that the astronomical winter season will commence on December 21, 2011 at 11:30 p.m. CST (for those living in the Central Time Zone).

Unbeknownst to them, that piece of information could lead to a more detailed understanding of the season's weather that's about to unfold--for if an astro-locality map is set up for that very moment, one can observe where planetary energies will be concentrated during the season.

The above astro-locality map is for the beginning of the Winter 2011-12 season. Along the West Coast we see a black line cutting through California and a yellow line running vertically through the Pacific Northwest and California. The black line represents the planet Neptune, which will be setting along the West Coast, and the yellow line represents the Moon, which will be exactly on the "underside" or opposite side of the earth.

These key positions reveal that both heavenly bodies will affect weather conditions there throughout the season. Neptune has been observed to bring increased precipitation, sometimes to the extreme of flooding, as well as foggy conditions, and mild temperatures in winter leading to thaws. The Moon is another harbinger of moisture so we appear to be looking at a wet winter season along the West Coast.

January 10-13, 2012 is one such time where heavy precipitation could affect the West Coast as Venus conjoins Neptune.

February 13-15, 2012 At this time Mercury will conjoin Neptune around the time of the Last Quarter Moon bringing a strong front or low pressure system over the West Coast. There are indications that the pattern may continue through February 19th.

The above map shows that the Neptune and Moon lines cross off the northern coast of the Baja Peninsula. Perhaps this represents the source of moisture that fuels these storms.

Hurricane Season 2011 Forecast Results

Hurricane Season 2011 officially ended yesterday, November 30th. I had written an article outlining forecasts that was published in the August issue of Dell Horoscope. The forecasts presented the times and places of possible hurricane/tropical storm development as well as the times and places of what appeared to be weaker systems such as tropical waves, and even non-tropical severe weather patterns.

Hurricane Kenneth and Dell Forecast

The map below for November 21st shows the position and extent of Hurricane Kenneth off the Mexican coast. My Dell Horoscope forecast published in August of this year expected a tropical system to form between Nov. 22-26 and affect the west coast of Mexico around 105 west longitude and 21 north latitude.

As seen in the satellite image above, some of Kenneth's outer rain bands were affecting the area pinpointed in my forecast. I would consider this forecast a type of near miss, since tropical activity did form around the time of the long-range forecast and somewhat affected the forecast area. Not too bad for not having at my disposal the personnel and equipment that conventional forecasters have at theirs.

Texas Summer 2012

The moisture principle in astrometeorology is governed to a large extent by the Moon, Venus, and Neptune. When these planets appear over geographical areas in key charts, the astrometeorologist may take this as an indication that those geographical areas will see an increase in moisture for that season or month depending on the time frame of the chart in question.

The winter season chart for 2011 places warm and dry Mars over Texas arguing that the state may not see much moisture during the winter season. The spring and summer season charts, however, both place Neptune over western Texas. Here we can take this as an indication that moisture will begin to return more in earnest starting with the spring season.

This pattern continues in the summer seasonal chart as well but apparently even more so. This is because the spring chart still shows the presence of Mars (equated with dryness) over Texas. The summer chart, however, adds the effect of Jupiter's square to Neptune.

The square between Jupiter and Neptune has been equated with above normal precipitation, low pressure systems, and southerly air flows. October 2011 Forecast Results

Here's a recap of the long-range weather forecasts published in the August edition of Dell Horoscope.

Forecast
Oct 4-7
The Mercury-Saturn conjunction triggers the solar eclipse of July 11, 2010. Its influence zeros in on the area about 275 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas on the Baja California. This, along with other indications, points toward the likelihood of a tropical system that will approach the Baja threatening the area with tropical storm or hurricane conditions.

Results
This was closely fulfilled by Hurricane Irwin as shown in a previous post.

Oct 9-10
This period shows more threatening weather centering off the coast of the northern Baja Peninsula and may just be part of the storm system mentioned in the Oct 4-7 forecast.

No threatening weather was reported.

Oct 26-29
With the Moon at its closest approach to earth on the 26th, weather patterns often intensify. This coincides with the squares of Mercury and Venus to Mars. Astro-locality maps place these configurations over an area in and around the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and its southern neighbor, Belize. Chances are very strong now for a tropical system to form in the western Caribbean or be drawn to this area from further east endangering this portion of Mexico and Central America.

Further north along the Louisiana coast, a low pressure system which may be tropical in nature, is indicated at this time.

Results
This forecast was fulfilled by Hurricane Rina as mentioned in another post. No low pressure system developed over Louisiana.

Oct 31- Nov 1
The area about 200 miles south of western Cuba in the Caribbean, roughly around 82 west longitude and 20 north latitude, will be the focal point for the double squares of Mercury and Venus to Neptune. The eight planet from the Sun, Neptune, is known in astro-meteorology for its pluvial influence. This set up fits the bill for possible heavy downpours in this area, so the development of a tropical system is likely.

Results

As shown in the Weather Channel map for Nov 1 below, that area of the western Caribbean experienced a low pressure system across western Cuba and the Yucatan but nothing severe enough to develop into a tropical system.

Hurricane Rina Fulfills Long-range Weather Forecast!

My long-range weather forecast published in the August edition of Dell Horoscope is being fulfilled by Hurricane Rina. This is the 8th tropical system forecast this year by astrometeorology. The other systems were Beatriz, Harvey, Irene, Lee, Nate, Hilary, and Irwin.

The forecast in Dell Horoscope read:

Hurricane Rina is headed to the exact area forecast--the Yucatan Peninsula and Belize. The forecast was prepared about 8 months ago in February of this year and then published in Dell.

Developing Caribbean System

An area of disturbed weather in the Caribbean may fulfill my long-range weather forecast published in the August edition of Dell Horoscope. The forecast was prepared in February of 2011.

With the Moon at its closest approach to earth on the 26th, weather patterns often intensify. This coincides with the squares of Mercury and Venus to Mars. Astro-locality maps place these configurations over an area in and around the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and its southern neighbor, Belize. Chances are very strong now for a tropical system to form in the western Caribbean or be drawn to this area from further east endangering this portion of Mexico and Central America.

As of today, the National Weather Service is giving this area of disturbed weather a 60 percent chance of developing into a tropical system.

There is a slight chance that the western Gulf of Mexico could come alive now as Cardinal Solar Ingress Venus is triggered again at longitude and latitude 95 west and 22 north.

Further north, a severe weather system threatens the U.S. Northeast through New England. It is possible that any tropical system forming or passing through the Bahamas is drawn northward. toward Long Island and New England. Northeast and New England Showers and thunderstorms are ongoing or developing region wide.

A few 1-inch-or-greater downpours are possible, especially across the Mid-Atlantic Appalachian Mountains.

A possible tropical system is shown off the west coast of the Baja. This may be part of the system seen in the Sept 16-19 forecast.

An area of disturbed weather about 325 miles south of Puerto Rico around 66 west longitude and 15 north latitude may show signs of organization now.

As seen in the graphic below, a weak low was centered over Puerto Rico near 18 north/66 west. Close to the forecast coordinates.

The Sun and Mercury oppose Uranus and square Pluto. These aspects center over the Baja California and may be indicative of severe weather or a tropical system that is drawn up over the area.

The map below shows Hurricane Hilary approaching the Baja California.

During this same period, the above aspects set up a broad sensitive area from Jamaica through Cuba and the Bahamas all the way up through the North Carolina coast. This could very well be a tropical system that menaces the Caribbean as it turns and heads up the U.S. coast through the Carolinas.

The Accuweather post for this date says "Worst Weekend Weather in Store for Eastern North Carolina."

Steady bands of rain will continue to move from south to north across the same areas over the next several days in eastern North Carolina. Many cities have already picked up nearly 2 inches of rain, and another 2-4 inches are likely from Emerald Isle to Elizabeth city and points eastward through Tuesday. Isolated amounts of over 6 inches are not out of the question.

Sept 25-26
National Weasther Service reported that an upper level low centered south of the Cayman Islands was generating showers and thunderstorms across Jamaica to the Yucatan and Cuba. On the 26th they reported some heavy showers and thunderstorms across the entire Florida Peninsula into Cuba.

September 1-15, 2011 Dell Forecast Results

Here are the results of the Dell Horoscope long-range weather forecasts for the first half of September 2011. These forecasts were prepared in February of this year and published in the August edition of Dell Horoscope.

Sept 1-3
This forecast expected tropical storm development to take place about 480 miles south of Guadalajara, Mexico or around 103 west longitude and 14 north latitude.

Results
Tropical Depression 8-E formed on the 31st of August and by the 1st of September was at 102 west/18 north.

Sept 7-10
This forecast warned of possible tropical system over the southern Baja Peninsula and a flare up of tropical activity in the western Gulf of Mexico.

Results
There was no system reported over the Baja at this time but Tropical Storm Nate fulfilled the Gulf forecast as covered in the post Tropical Storm Nate Fulfills Long-range Weather Forecast!

Sept 9-11

More severe weather was mentioned for the western coast of Mexico around the state of Jalisco.

Results
No system developed here.

Forecast

Sept 11-15

A tropical wave or depression was forecast for the area west of Jamaica in the Caribbean around 80 west longitude and 18 north latitude.

Results

On the 11th a tropical wave west of Jamaica was reported by the National Weather Service over 83 west between 15 and 20 north. Over the next days the wave brought heavy rainfall to Yucatan, Belize, Honduras, and Guatemala. Here's a clip from the National Weather Service on the 13th.

Hurricane Irwin Fulfills Long-range Weather Forecast!

The National Weather Service reports today that Hurricane Irwin is located near 13.7 north latitude and 119.8 west longitude off the coast of Mexico. This fulfills the long-range weather forecast prepared in February of this year and published in the August edition of Dell Horoscope.

The forecast for October 4-7 stated that the Mercury-Saturn conjunction of October 6th would trigger the Solar Eclipse of July 11, 2010 resulting in the likelihood of a tropical system forming about 275 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas on the tip of the Baja California. Hurricane Irwin will pass near these coordinates in the next few days.

The Dell forecast indicated that the system would approach the Baja with tropical storm or hurricane conditions.

The above map from the National Weather Service shows that there is a chance that tropical storm force winds will affect the tip of the Baja Peninsula.

As stated above, this forecast was prepared in February of this year, or 8 months beforehand, based on the principles of astrometeorology. See the links below for 5 other tropical systems (Nate, Lee, Irene, Harvey, and Beatriz) predicted this year through this method.

Winter 2011-12

Accuweather has published its overview of winter 2011-12. The map below shows the weather highlights for the season.

On January 24th of this year, I posted an overview of the winters of 2011-14 based on astrometeorology. It's interesting to see that the comments I made regarding the eastern United States for the next winter and the two beyond match up with the cold and stormy conditions Accuweather is showing for that same area of the country.

Accuweathe expects the Midwest and Great Lakes to be dealt the worst of winter this year. If you refer to the map for the winter season in my Winters of 2011-14 post, you'll see the Uranus/Pluto lines passing through 83 west longitude. Geographically, this passes through Michigan, Ohio, and the central and eastern Great Lakes.

Specific forecasts for the winter of 2011-12 for the United States, Europe, and China will be published in an article I have written for The Mountain Astrologer. The article will appear in their February 2012 edition, which will be available in January of next year.

If you can't prove a universal negative then atheism is unprovable
